Actually, its for my friend, with his money, but it's coming to MY house, so yeah...I'm reading it dammit!

But from what we've talked about, and from what little we know, he loves Rorschach too. Water-soluble-alter-masks ftw!

We've also been worried about Dr. Manhattan and his flying blue penis XD

I just can't wait to read it so I can enjoy the movie that much more. I'm awestruck as it is, so I'll be a HUGE fangirl by then end.

you dont read watchmen to enjoy the movie. you see the movie to enjoy watchmen. the whole deal with this book is that alan moore set out to show what a comic book is capable of. it takes advantage of the techniques only a comic can employ--repeated visual themes, image-text relationship, the reader's ability to flip back and forth through the pages...stuff like that. fuck, there's a whole meta-comic book storyline in there for christs sake. this is the unfilmable book, and no matter how amazing snyder's adaption will be, and im sure itll be awesome, it will never be as good as the comic.

you wont get everything there is to see in this book by reading it once. read it. and then read it again. a third time if you can. when i have it (which isnt often now, since its being loaned to all my friends) i read like, once a week. and every time i do, i see/realize something new.

Oh I know, I just wanna see where it all started. The movie will be awesome, but the book? How can I not read THAT classic. Out of all the comic books I could choose to read, I choose the unorthodox, out of the main, truely original one, and I wouldn't have it any other way. And I'm sure my friend will let me read it as many times as I want, in fact we'll probably be reading it together, pointing out different things as we go along. Hell, we might point out the same thing, we're weird like that.

And I just love Manhattan's reason for being naked XD He doesn't have to follow our laws anymore, he's fucking BLUE for god's sake!

And PSSSSSSHHHHH! Geeks rule. Without them, people would be stupid, and uniform. Geeks are what show the other people what else there is to life.
