pink messenger

another quickie painting, but i quite like this one actually.

the messenger and his buddy, henry. i'm dedicating my newfound painting surge to illustrating all the recycle project characters i neglect.


here's more story, if you're interested:

the messenger is the first child the magician picks up. once he's done his training, he leaves to travel the world and somehow falls into his job of delivering packages and letters and the like. i mean, it makes sense...all you want to do is travel so you start up a delivery service. he offers the only world-wide messaging service---all other postal systems are local, though some are quite large.

anyways, in my opinion he's the smartest of the four children. he realizes pretty quickly how much eternal youth sucks, so he siphons off half of his magic to age himself up a bit. with the extra magic he creates a construct, which is the lovely fat thing at his feet. its name is henry.

henry has no fixed shape or size. his interior is dimensionally transcendent (the messenger keeps his gun and packages in there). he also has quite an attitude.

the messenger's gun also doubles as an abacus. that way if you can't pay your delivery fee, he has a gun nice and handy.
